Be inspired by color

June 2, 2011

I am inspired by bold and beautiful colors and Mardi Gras theme parties are popular among teens. We recently planned a Mardi Gras theme Sweet 16 birthday celebration at the South Charlotte Banquet Center (Charlotte, NC), it was festive and fun and everyone had a blast! The venue was decorated with balloons and colorful centerpieces, Mardi Gras masks and boas, flickering colorful ice cubes and colorful lighting on the dance floor.

A huge thank you goes out to our wonderful vendors who helped bring everything together. The birthday girl arrived in style with a stretch limousine provided by Reynolds Limousine Service, once she arrived at the venue the party got started as her guests enjoyed a mix of popular music by DJ Express and was really excited about the green screen photos with various backdrops provided by Lisa Crates Photography. Let’s not forget about the food, which was a variety of the birthday girl’s favorites such as mini cheese burgers, mini pizza’s, shrimp cocktail, pigs in a blanket and a fruit & vegetable display was served and provided by Fort Mills BBQ Company and Tasty Pastries Bakery provided us with the yummy raspberry chocolate birthday cake.

Here’s our beautiful birthday girl in red making her grand entrance with her red, gold, blue and green peakcock mask. She really got the party started!

Happy Sweet 16!!!

Party guests were festive in their mardi gras masks.

What’s a mask without the boa?

The colorful masks were a hit!

Even the guys couldn’t resist.

The perfect hand held mask.

The guests also enjoyed pink lemonade with flickering ice cubes. The flickering ice cubes added that extra special festive touch and was a big hit!

The birthday girl and her friends danced all night.

They got so into it they even had to kick off their heels.

Thanks to DJ Express the guests really enjoyed the music mix.

And we’re posing.

We couldn’t resist incorporating mardi gras beads within the centerpieces on top of a mirror tile to illiminate the candelight and adding to the festive    ambiance.

A variety of colorful boa’s were available for our guests as party favors.

The hand held masks was also a big hit.

Guests also enjoyed sweet tea with flickering ice cubes.
